Congratulations to Margie Gomez for finishing first in our September Neon Contest. Her final list lacked only six neon signs from photographer Mark Davis’ "D-Neon" poster. Alexis Gomez and Faye Greenberg tied for second, both missing nine signs.
Interesting note: Of all of our contestants, not one person correctly identified the crown on Main Street. Others frequently forgotten were the stars at Fair Park and Centennial Liquor at Lovers. The shops and restaurants on Greenville, however, did not faze anyone.
Thanks to everyone who participated in our contest. Margie Gomez wins $100 for her choice of La Parrillada, Papou’s or St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin, and Alexis Gomez and Faye Greenberg each win $50 (same restaurant choices). All of our participants received a complimentary Advocate T-shirt for playing, and the reward of getting to know our corner of Dallas a little better!
