The Lot, the new casual dining restaurant at 7530 E. Grand where the old Backyard Beach Bar used to be, is set to open for dinner on Feb. 25.
Managing partner John McBride says it’s going to be a neighborhood-minded, family friendly restaurant with a “kidscape” and activity center for adults, for things like beach bocce ball, washers and cornhole.
“Our goal is just a really laid back, come-as-you-are mentality,” McBride says. “The uniqueness of the place is the lot itself. You can’t build this in a parking lot.”
The doors will open on Feb. 25 for dinner only. On March 25, they’ll open for lunch and brunch as well. McBride says they hope to make it “more than just a burger place” with American food and healthy options, priced at about $8 to $15.
