The first phase of The Central, a 27-acre mixed-use development in East Dallas, will feature a park and four architecturally unique pavilions that are scheduled for completion this summer.
The Pavilions at The Central, designed in collaboration with local firms GFF and Bud Creative, are expected to appear as jewel-box structures and feature sculpted, organic forms that integrate into the landscape, according to a press release. They will also maximize natural light and utilize passive cooling techniques so that they can be used year-round. Designed with patios and seating, the pavilions are expected to be pedestrian-friendly and serve as gathering spaces.
The Central, located at the northeast corner of U.S. 75 and Haskell Avenue, is expected to provide upscale multifamily, hospitality, office, retail and restaurant space (in addition to the park) by the time it is complete, according to its developer De La Vega’s website. The development aims to enhance walkability on Haskell Avenue and improve connectivity, safety and accessibility.
“A development of this scale doesn’t happen overnight,” founder and CEO of De La Vega Development Artemio De La Vega said in the press release. “From the beginning, we have been intentional in every decision, ensuring that The Central not only meets but exceeds expectations. The park and pavilions set the tone for what’s to come, offering a dynamic space that fosters connection in a meaningful way.”
De La Vega Development is curating the mix of local, out-of-state and first-to-market tenants and is currently in the leasing phase for The Central.
“We are setting the standard for The Central,” De La Vega said in the press release. “The tenant mix must strike the perfect balance. These pavilions will be an expression of culture and interconnection, and we only have one opportunity to make a lasting first impression.”
