Three East Dallas elementary schools are among 206 in Texas named to the 2009 Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll. The award, given to James B. Bonham Elementary, Lakewood Elementary and Stonewall Jackson Elementary, means that at least 20 percent of the schools’ students scored at the "commended" level, which is the highest, on the Texas Assessment of Knowlege and Skills. The group also considers whether a school’s students come from low-income homes.

At Bonham, 58 percent of students scored commended.  At Lakewood, 48 percent scored commended. And at Stonewall, 46 percent.
