Johny DeLeon, who helped lead the award-winning student scientists from J.L. Long to the local, district and regional science fairs, was recognized by SMU with a teaching award.
DeLeon won the 2018 SMU Teacher Award and was one of just a few teaches from the region acknowledged for his dedication to his students. DeLeon teaches 6th grade science at J.L. Long. The award was given to him based on the performance of his students at this year’s science fairs.
