Restaurateurs with a history of rebooting troubled eateries are the new masterminds behind Louie King BBQ.

Jason Caswell and his partner Shawn Corley are rebranding the barbecue joint, which temporarily closed just six months after opening at 1916 Greenville Ave. in October 2018.

The duo, which also owns Ross & Hall, will hire new pitmasters at the eatery, renamed Smokin’ C’s BBQ. Caswell said the restaurant will serve classic central Texas barbecue plates rather than Louie King’s oddities like rabbit sliders and Akuashi brisket.

Smokin’ C’s is rescheduled to open June 1, according to its Yelp page.
