We don’t know much more, although we have a few calls in to various people with DISD, but Ruth Vail announced in a resignation letter dated June 22 that she will not be returning to Woodrow as principal and will instead focus on “completing my Doctoral Program at the University of Texas at Austin in Educational Administration.”

As those of you who follow Woodrow news know, Vail is a legacy Wildcat, having graduated from Woodrow herself. She spent 15 years with DISD and was instrumental in bringing the International Baccalaureate (IB) program to Woodrow.

No word yet on a successor, how the search will be handled, or what the change will mean to Woodrow, but we’ll let you know as soon as we find out.
