Swimming pools are difficult to avoid this time of year, especially if you’re under the age of 12. Birthday parties, summer camps and family vacations are just a few places where little ones will inevitably encounter the oversized bathtubs. If your kids aren’t experienced swimmers, make sure they are prepared for the pool this summer by enrolling them in swim lessons at one of our neighborhood swim schools.

Mockingbird Swim & Total Fitness’s mission is to teach children in a “gentle, fun and loving way.” The American Red Cross authorized provider teaches ARC learn-to-swim classes for ages 6 months to adults. All lead instructors at the swim school are certified water safety instructors and lifeguards, and some instructors also hold infant/toddler certifications from the U.S. Swim School Association.

Kiddos not quite ready to dive into the big kids’ pool? Try a sprayground instead at the Ridgewood Recreation Center from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
