A dozen volunteers cleaned and organized learning materials in the school’s continuous learning lab, applied inspirational decals and hung photos of students in the hallways March 23 at United to Learn’s Community Campus Day.

The event brought together volunteers from local businesses and high schools to complete improvement projects intended to create a more inspirational school environment. The hope is that it will lead to higher attendance and academic performance.

More than 450 volunteers participated in the program across 23 Dallas Independent School District schools. They enhanced 35 hallways, constructed 21 outdoor projects, renovated 11 classrooms, modernized six co-working spaces and installed more than 11 student-inspired murals.
