Urban Vines Wine Bistro, the freshly open restaurant that quickly swooped on the old Cafe Lago location on 9219 Garland, is offering some delectable specials this week. Enjoy food discounted 25% today (and every Tuesday.) Try the “Urban Pasta”: bow-tie pasta enveloped in a blanket of creamy pesto sauce made from spinach, basil, toasted walnuts, and parmesan cheese. For a healthier meal, get your green on with a salad of mixed greens with pears, strawberries, pecans, and honey raspberry vinaigrette, topped with sliced chicken breast. Or just pop in for some cheap vino on a Thursday, when wine glasses are half-price. Urban Vines is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.- 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Construction abounds in East Dallas, but don’t worry about all of the demolition you are seeing around Dallas pizza institution, Campisi’sDavid Campisi tells D magazine, “We have are adding 50 parking spaces. Once that is complete (6 weeks) we are going to restore the original club inside back to its Prohibition day decor. Also, we are renovating the middle dining room and the Joe’s dining room and adding booths and juke boxes.” The restaurant is open for business. “We never close,” Campisi says. “My grandfather always told us, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’”
