I was going to write a post about why it isn’t unusual for the temperature to be this warm this early in the year. After all, the record high for 29 of the 30 days in June is 100 degrees or more.

But then I saw the forecast for this weekend, and I figured, yes, it will be pretty miserable. The forecast calls for 99 on Friday, 100 on Saturday and 102 on Sunday, all of of which would be close to records. Even more uncomfortably, the forecast lows are for 81 or so, which would also be near the record for each day.

The final bit of bad news? We had just one inch of rain in May, which is typically the rainiest month of the year. So if your yard is looking brownish, remember Dallas’ watering ordinance: No watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., through Oct. 31.
