Three East Dallas-based nonprofits are among the recipients of the 46th Chi Omega Christmas Market.
For the Love of the Lake, which organizes monthly shoreline clean-ups, was chosen, along with Dallas 24 Hour Club, which provides services to people recovering from alcoholism and substance abuse. So was Hope Cottage, which provides parenting support, education, adoptions and fostering services. Overall, 13 North Texas nonprofits were chosen as beneficiaries of the annual holiday market.
Proceeds from ticket sales, merchant booth fees and donations will be given to the nonprofits, which also include: After 8 to Educate; Catch Up & Read; Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center; Dallas Methodist Health System Foundation’s SANE Program; Just Say YES; Make-A-Wish North Texas; My Possibilities; Project Transformation North Texas; RISE Adaptive Sports; and Traffic 911.
This year, more than 200 merchants will be selling items such as holiday decor, women’s clothing and accessories, home decor, children’s clothing and toys, and food items. There will also be merchants providing services, rather than products.
Over the past nearly half century, the holiday market has donated more than $10 million to 136 local organizations.
The market will be held Nov. 15-18 in the Automobile Building at Fair Park.
