Exhibition at the Bath House Cultural Center

Beat the heat, and take in some art at the Bath House Cultural Center.

The Texas Jewish Arts Association is collaborating with the Bath House on its Natural Diversity juried art exhibition. Here’s a description from the Bath House’s website:

Natural Diversity is a collection of diverse themes, styles and media that reflect how diversity in art imitates that of life. The art in this exhibition reflects its core concept of multiplicity with figurative and abstract works that investigate through eclectic media, scale, and techniques, the world around us, with special consideration given to themes concerning people and their diverse nature in our communities.”

This free exhibition is open until Aug. 12.

Dollar Days at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

The arboretum is offering $3 general admission during August. This weekend, see the Quilters Guild of Dallas exhibit inside the DeGolyer House, open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Artist/author talk at Art on Main

J.C. Barba’s exhibit Creation of Man is on display at the art gallery until Aug. 17, but the artist is hosting a talk at 8 p.m. Saturday. The exhibition coincides with the launch of Barba’s book, Creation of Man.

Here’s how Barba describes the exhibition, according to Art on Main’s website:

“This exhibition will explore, through art, the inner workings of the body. Beyond the mechanics, viewers of the exhibition will go on a journey, learning how the body is synonymous with design. Design is about intelligently organized elements. The body is evidence of a Supreme Designer. You can witness the principles and elements of design all throughout the sections of the body.”

RSVP for the free talk and reception at Art on Main, 4428 Main St., here.
