If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to welcome The UPS Store on Mockingbird and Greenville along with its owner, David Jones, to the neighborhood. The store opened in November, but will be celebrating its grand opening on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

Jones and his wife Nicole are very active in the community. Jones is a marathon coach at Run On, and volunteers on the board of directors for the Lower Greenville Neighborhood Association, while his wife volunteers at Paws In The City.

Jones has worked for UPS in various roles, from driving the packing trucks, to management, and finally to working for the corporate office. About a year ago, he decided he wanted to make a change, and work for himself. “I remember hearing a lot about the UPS store, so I just inquired,” Jones says. He wanted a location that was close enough to home that he could ride his bike to work. He asked the corporate office if it had any locations nearby, and eventually it had an opening in lower Greenville. “I settled on this location at Mockingbird and Greenville, I think it’s a very busy corner, but it’s a good location for a lot of people.” For more information on the store, call 214.824.5100.
