Casa Linda Plaza’s Monster Yogurt will give frozen yogurt in exchange for a book donation.
The store, owned by Ava Skipworth, is holding a book drive to benefit East Dallas schools.
The drive lasts until the end of the month. Get one free ounce of yogurt for every book donated, up to five ounces of yogurt.
Skipworth began the annual book drive, now in its 10th year, after she opened the Casa Linda location.
She couldn’t read while she was growing up. The first time she finished a book was in high school, after she was diagnosed with dyslexia and a teacher began helping her after school every day.
“If you can read, you can do anything,” Skipworth told the Advocate last year.
Monster Yogurt is located at 9540 Garland Road, next to Maya’s Modern Mediterranean. Books are also accepted at the Richardson location.
In 2021, the dessert shop was named one of the best frozen yogurt shops in the country by Delish.
