Senior Cpl. Melvin Williams will face one count of misdemeanor assault, the Dallas Morning News reported. He is expected to turn himself in.

Williams was seen in a video punching a man in the face during the brawl, which occurred in July near Malcolm X. Boulevard and Elm Street. Other officers stepped in to de-escalate the situation, and Williams was placed on administrative leave after the fight.

Chief Eddie Garcia said in a statement he wanted to “commend those officers who recognize their duty to intervene in this incident and de-escalated the situation.”

At the time, Williams was already under investigation for two use-of-force incidents. He joined the department in 2006.
