Here’s a shocker: Lincoln Property, a big-time real estate developer and owner of all kinds of major retail and apartment projects, now owns the Dixie House-anchored Lakewood shopping center. This information, courtesy of Steve Brown in the DMN (the story isn’t behind the paywall at this point), has all kinds of implications for the future of Lakewood and shopping in general around here.
We’ll follow up with more information in the next day or two, but in the meantime, the DMN story does a good job of talking with a couple of longtime tenants (Ace Hardware, for example) and pondering what this means for the neighborhood.
At this time, the company plans to “do some exterior remodeling,” a Lincoln exec told the News. “We have no big, earth-shattering plans.”
