Last weekend, a couple of merchants at Lakewood Shopping Center were victimized. In the parking lot near Top Hat Cleaners and the Fan Man at about 8 a.m., a customer was robbed by a man with a knife after picking up his cleaning and some donuts. And on Friday about 5:30 p.m., according to Lakewood Business Association president Carol Hensley, a robber walked into Splendor in the Grass, visited briefly with the clerk and then grabbed a locked cash drawer from the register and ran from the shop toward the Lakewood Theater. The guy’s actions were recorded on camera; he is described as a white male, about 5-feet, 2-inches tall, short brown hair and about 30 years old. At the time, he was wearing jeans and what is described as a "dirty, dirty t-shirt". If you have any information about the incident or think you’ve seen the guy, contact the police or call Diana or Harlan at Splendor (214-824-2777).
