Saturdays fill up fast. And if there’s no time to purchase local produce and handcrafted goods at the farmers market, neighbors will soon have the opportunity to do so on Sunday.

The White Rock Farmers Market is opening another location at the Lakewood Village Shopping Center on the corner of Mockingbird and Abrams beginning in mid-May, according to a Facebook post. The Lakewood Village Farmers Market, 6464 E. Mockingbird Lane, will operate from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday beginning May 19. It will run through Oct. 27.

“We needed a Sunday market to be able to cater to folks who can’t make our Saturday market, but more importantly because we want to give our vendors an additional day to sell their products and increase awareness about local farmers in Texas,” market organizer Casey Cutler told the Dallas Morning News.

Vendors at the Lakewood market will come from a 150-mile radius of Dallas and will grow or make what they sell. The market will accept Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program benefits and will double the amount users spend of fresh produce.
