Rumor had it Jarams Donuts is opening today at 2117 Abrams Road, conveniently adjacent to Paciugo Gelato.
Rumors, though, aren’t always true. Co-owner Blair Ji told the Advocate the grand opening is slated Saturday, Dec. 1. The shop also will be open from 4-9 p.m. during Light Up Lakewood.
And so, dear Lakewood, we are sorry if we disappointed you. It’ll be more than a week before you can sample doughnut flavors like blueberry cake, creme brûlée and maple bacon.
Blair Ji and her father, Michal, are the masterminds behind the confectionary concoctions that Dallas Observer once described as “transcendent, like God with powdered sugar.”
“I went to school in New York and saw all these decorated cupcakes and thought, ‘Why not do the same with doughnuts?’ ” Blair Ji told us in 2013.
