Jarams Donuts on the way to the neighborhood

Jarams Donuts is bringing its sculpted treats to Lakewood sometime this fall, according to Dallas CultureMap.

We covered the opening of their North Dallas location in 2013, when the shop’s creative pastries began impressing patrons. The artisan treats include movie and sports character doughnuts, croissant doughnuts, funnel cake doughnuts, kolaches and more. The Lakewood location will be Jarams’ second.

Jarams will slide into the former cleaner’s at 2711 Abrams across the street from Whole Foods, making a sweet pairing with Paciugo, the adjacent gelato spot.

“I went to school in New York and saw all these decorated cupcakes and thought, ‘Why not do the same with doughnuts?’ ” Blair Ji told us in 2013. She works alongside her father Michal Ji and puts her architecture degree to work in designing doughnut delicacies.

The new place promises to be a favorite for East Dallas families. “On the weekends, the kids rush in and go straight to the specialty cases,” Blair said.
