A robber attacked a 48-year-old woman in her bed in the 5900 block of Goodwin at about 2:45 a.m. Friday, according to police. The man beat the woman, who wasn’t severely injured, and she fought him off until he fled with an iPod and about $10. The woman told police she couldn’t remember whether all of her doors had been locked, and there were no signs of forced entry.
No similar crimes have been reported in the area, according to a newsletter from the Lakewood Neighborhood Association. But it is similar to a crime in October, when a robber assaulted a Lakewood homeowner and made off with an iPod and a small amount of cash, according to the newsletter.
