The campaign created as a response to the disastrous wildfires in Maui, the worst Hawaii has seen in years. The fire happened in early August of this year. Over 100 people have already been pronounced dead, multiple communities have been destroyed to bits, leaving many families devastated.

Slice Out Hunger, a New York City-based nonprofit, has over 600 pizzerias partnering to help across the U.S. The organization fights to end hunger through pizza-themed campaigns and events. Since incorporating as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2015, Slice Out Hunger has raised nearly $1.5 million to support those facing food insecurity.

People can dine at GAPCo for either a slice or a whole box of Hawaiian pizza from today through Sep. 30. All Hawaiian pizza sales will help support Hawaiian residents affected by the Maui wildfires.

The campaign goal is $10,000. Slice Out Hunger has already donated $5,000 to provide instant support. Pizzerias can register at sliceouthunger.org.
