For almost a year, a young woman named Jessica Burnham, who’s an MFA candidate in applied design research within the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas, has been working with the business owners along Lowest Greenville, helping them coordinate a business association.
The hope is that a business association will give the business owners along Lowest Greenville a unified voice in the neighborhood.
Burnham was in talks with neighbors as early as January of this year, and in February a handful of business owners began meeting somewhat regularly. In March, they decided to officially form a collective, which they tagged the Lowest Greenville Collective.
Earlier this week, Burnham hosted a website launch party. If you drove down Lowest Greenville Wednesday evening, you might’ve noticed the orange balloons. Starting at 4 p.m., businesses along Lowest Greenville featured happy hour specials and other discounts to celebrate the launch of the new website: lowestgreenvilleavenue.com.
