Wishing trees are popular in many different cultures, including Chinese culture during the holidays and the lunar New Year, according to a press release. Wishing trees are made for people to pray for love, fortune, career and health.

The festival is open every day, including holidays, at 5 p.m. and located at the lagoon in Fair Park near the former Science Place & TI Founder’s IMAX building. More than 175,000 people have visited the festival since Sept. 26 and festival organizers expect thousands more before the end of the festival on Jan. 6.
