Flatbread Company will open Thursday at 1720 Greenville Ave.

Crews spent most of 2019 converting the tire shop into a restaurant, which was scheduled to open last spring. The building had been used as a car shop for years until Firestone opened in the space in the early 1950s.

The new design incorporates the building’s past with an outdoor patio and seven garage doors leading to the dining room, according to the Morning News.

Flatbread Company will serve thin-crust, wood-fired pizza made with organic dough. The Dallas location — the first in Texas — will have exclusive menu items, such as the Lower Greenville Community with caramelized onions and mushrooms. Another is the Buffalo chicken pizza topped with red onions, celery, carrots and ranch dressing.

The pizzeria is partnering with three local bakeries for dessert. Pinch of Salt Pastries will make gluten-free brownies, Full Circle Bakery will make cookie sandwiches with ice cream and Sweet & Simple will make vegan chocolate-coconut bites.
