A person died early Monday in a fatal shooting in East Dallas, near Peavy and Ferguson roads, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Authorities responded at 3:10 a.m. to the 2000 block of Oates Drive, less than half a mile from Bishop Lynch High School. Upon arrival, they found one person dead from undisclosed injuries.
The accused shooter was later arrested in Mesquite, the Morning News reported.
Police have not yet identified the victim or the shooter.
The cause of the shooting was not immediately clear.
