Central 214 (Mockingbird and Central) will do its part to help out-of-work fisherman in the gulf, Executive Chef Blythe Beck says.

Starting today, Central 214 will donate $1 from every purchase of Beck’s popular Chicken Fried Kobe Steak dish on the lunch and dinner menu to the Gulf Relief Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to providing relief to the fishing community of the Gulf Coast and their families.

The fundraising will continue “until fishermen are back in their boats,” Beck says. The featured Central 214 Chicken Fried Kobe Steak, the chef’s signature approach to a traditional southern favorite, is served with tender slow braised mustard greens, butter whipped potatoes and bacon-red eye gravy.

Adds Beck, “Being located in a Gulf Coast state, the oil spill and resulting tragedy is always top of mind for our team and our community. We are proud to help do our part in supporting the hardworking fishermen whom we rely on everyday in our restaurants.”
