Dallas Arboretum _ shaping up

The exterior of Arboretum Village doesn’t look much further along today than it did last time we posted a drive by photo update in June. The clock is ticking for Lincoln Property Co. to meet its projected ending date of roughly-sometime-this-summer. The retailers and restaurants that have signed on at Arboretum Village all say they’re hoping to open this fall.

So far, we know of six secured tenant for the new shopping center:

Lincoln Property Co. met with neighbors in 2012 to talk about its plans to demolish and reconstruct the shopping center at Gaston-Garland-Grand. At the time, Lincoln said they were negotiating a lease with Starbucks for a building in the southwest corner.

The next to sign on was The Fresh Market, which will anchor the center. Then Ace Hardware confirmed it will transplant from its previous location in Lakewood Shopping Center to Arboretum Village. In September, Luke’s Locker said it will receive a large stand-alone building at the center of the shopping center.

Recently Digg’s Taco Shop became the fifth company to sign on with Lincoln, and owner Joey Milan says Digg’s will be roomies with Starbucks in a building that will be built near the corner of Gaston and Garland. Starbucks will get about 1,800 square feet of the building, and Digg’s will get about 2,200 square feet, Milan says.

Lastly, the national pet store giant PetSmart signed on last month. The location will be a 15,397 square-feet, right next to The Fresh Market.
