Officer Kelly Beemer is the one who got drunk at Lee Harvey’s, and while her police officer friends were driving her home, she fired a gun in the back of the squad car.

It happened on Abrams near the Lakewood Country Club in June. You can revisit it by watching the embarrassing dash cam video. She was charged with illegally firing a gun.

Chief David Brown on Thursday fired Beemer, who had been on unpaid leave since the incident.

He also fired five other officers for unrelated violations, including Paul Bauer and Henry Duetsch, the two officers accused of beating a motorcyclist in South Dallas over Labor Day weekend.

A police media release says Duetsch “intentionally re-positioned a digital video recorder to prevent officers’ actions from being recorded” and “failed to follow the direct order of a supervisor to cooperate in an internal affairs investigation.”

Among other things, Bauer is accused of using unnecessary or inappropriate force and entering false information on a report.

Another office fired Thursday is Manuel Romani of the Southeast Patrol Division, who in May was arrested for drunken driving in Forney.
