Robert Brittingham built the 12,000-square-foot residence in 1967 on 3 acres near White Rock Lake. The five-bedroom, six-bathroom home featured a stone facade and lots of tile — not surprising, considering Brittingham’s work. Dal-Tile is now part of Mohawk Industries, a leading manufacturer of tile products, according to the company’s website.

Brittingham loved the outdoors and sought to bring it in with floor-to-ceiling windows, stone fireplaces and wooden wall paneling.

The home, featured on the White Rock Home Tour, had his and her master suites and bathrooms. His wife’s bathroom was complete with a pink jacuzzi tub, where she could admire White Rock Lake from the window.

The home at 4606 Chapel Hill Road was valued at more than $4.4 million, according to Dallas Central Appraisal District.
