The patent attorney is a partner at Baker Botts. She’s president of the Junior League of Dallas. She’s a board member for the nonprofit New Friends New Life. She’s raising three kids with husband, Ketric Sanford, in Forest Hills.

And her “side hustle” is custom homebuilding.

In this interview with radio host Jenna Owens, Brown Sanford talks about becoming the first African American partner at her law firm in 2014 and “being the only one in the room” from the time she was in school for electrical engineering.

She also touches on her philanthropic work and striving for work/life balance.

“It’s not a balance, it’s a juggle, and trying to keep all the balls there,” she says.
