The restaurant, which opened on Greenville Avenue in the old Mudsmith space in 2021, received five stars in 2023 and 2022. And last year, it also received a Five Diamond designation from AAA.

Carte Blanche is owned by husband-wife duo Casey and Amy La Rue.

Casey oversees the dinner service, which features a 12-course tasting menu or a five-course meal. Food can be accompanied by an optional wine or tea pairing.

Amy heads the bakery business, which sells a spread of sweet and savory pastries several mornings each week.

“A pastry isn’t just a pastry at this Dallas restaurant,” the Forbes inspector wrote in notes about Carte Blanche. “Chef Amy creates an array of tantalizing baked goods that prove both expertly made and, in some cases, innovative.”

Forbes Travel Guide awards five stars to “outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.” The five-star rating system was created in 1958, when the company was Mobil Travel Guide.

Carte Blanche is located at 2114 Greenville Ave.
