Carte Blanche was the only restaurant in Texas to receive the rating. Fearing’s Restaurant and The Mansion Restaurant both earned four stars, and The French Room was recommended.

Five-star ratings are given to “outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.” The original five-star rating system was created in 1958, when the company was Mobil Travel Guide.

Carte Blanche, founded by Casey and Amy LaRue, opened in 2021. Breakfast is served in the mornings, and a multi-course dinner is served in the evenings. Something that makes the restaurant unique is its optional wine- and tea-pairing programs. Another distinction is that beef is never on the menu.

The restaurant celebrated the achievement on its Instagram page, posting: “We opened just 10 months ago with a small team, and it was with their dedication and pursuit of excellence that this was all possible. We’re proud to be here and excited with what we can achieve next.”
