The restaurant hoped to open by today, but patio problems have set it back until mid-April at the earliest, says restaurant manager Megan Dennison.

“We are at the mercy of the City,” Dennison says, explaining that the super awesome patio the restaurant began promising when it announced the location last year has met lots of red tape. “I’ve been to the building inspectors’ office already twice today,” she says.

Dennison says she hopes Cane Rosso White Rock, located near Gaston-Garland-Grand, will open by April 15 “for maybe test meal nights.”

In the meantime, future patrons can view all kinds of pretty Instagrammed photos on Cane Rosso’s Facebook page, such as this gorgeous communal table. Also, the restaurant is asking for neighbors to donate plastic bottles, which will be recycled and used for patio planters.
