The hours of prep work and planning, the endless dishes, the piles of leftovers — it may just be too much.

So some neighborhood businesses are trying to give us a hand with dining options that won’t require four trips to the grocery store.

This list will be updated as new information comes in.

Palmer’s Hot Chicken

The Nashville hot chicken spot is offering the “haul it home” menu. Offerings include family meals of tenders, cluckers, catfish and more, plus sides such as cole slaw, collard greens and mac and cheese. Nanner puddin’ is available for dessert.

Orders of $50 or more come with the option of a quart of frosé or frozen margarita for $15.

Place and pick up orders by Dec. 23. Palmer’s is located at 6465 E. Mockingbird Lane.

Scardello Artisan Cheese

This local store founded by Lakewood neighbors is participating in Enchant Christmas, the Christmas light maze and village at Fair Park. Stop by to try the Raclette cheese sandwiches, or get a cheese plate with three cheeses, dried fruit, nuts, jam, mustard and a baguette.

The sandwiches and cheese plate cost $12-$15.

Scardello’s booth will be open through Jan. 2 when Enchant Christmas is open. Tickets are available here.

Two Sisters Catering

Two Sisters Catering is offering the holiday box and Feliz Navidad box, which each serve eight to 10 people. The holiday dinner, available for $380, includes artichoke and spinach crostini; blood orange cranberry salad; herbed garlic roasted beef tenderloin; Yukon mashed potatoes; grilled asparagus; creamy brussels sprouts asiago bake; fresh-baked whole wheat rolls; and holiday fruit crisp.

The Feliz Navidad buffet is available for $365 and includes: queso, salsa roja, guacamole and house-made tortilla chips; chopped Southwest salad; grilled beef tenderloin fajita; shredded chicken and green chile tamales; Spanish rice; refried beans; and red velvet cake.

Orders should be placed by Dec. 20 at noon and can be made by calling 214-821-4343 or by emailing alexv@twosisterscatering.com. Food should be picked up 11 a.m.-noon Dec. 24 at 2633 Gaston Ave. There’s an option for delivery for an additional $35.
