Last Friday, March 25, White Rock Lake Park users saw a female body face down in the lake.
Police officers were dispatched to the 8100 block of Garland Road around 4:25 p.m.
The officers didn’t find any identification on the person, and they are still investigating the case, according to a statement from the Dallas Police Department.
This “unexplained death” will be documented on case number 052148-2022.
That’s about all the information the police are releasing as of 1 p.m. April 1.
But this is far from the first time neighbors have spotted a body in the lake.
In 2019, someone found the body of a Black transgender woman there, and a game warden moved the body because he was afraid it would float back into the water.
In 2015, an 18-year-old woman was pulled from a creek near White Rock Lake. Police officers were called to the 11700 block of Dixfield Drive after a vehicle crashed into the water.
And we can’t forget the Lady of the Lake. Some say the 1927 death of 19-year-old Hallie Gaston brought on the legend; Gaston died in a boating accident near Big Thicket.
As for the March 25 incident, we’ll update when we learn more.
