Sweet Grass Market is closed for now.

The store, which opened at 4825 Ross Ave. near Fitzhugh Avenue in July 2021, is “closed due to transitioning,” according to a sign on the door, which also says to text 318.990.7544 for new location updates.

And on the windows, there are posters advertising that “C Store Smoke & Tobacco” is coming soon.

Sweet Grass Market is a coffee shop, convenience store, smoothie bar and restaurant, all in one. The Black-owned business even had a lounge area, dine-in seating and charging stations.

On the weekends, the store had a Cajun-style crawfish boil, with ingredients such as seasoned crawfish, sausage and potatoes.

The market was located next to Metro by T-Mobile in a building that, according to DCAD records, was most recently Chupacabra’s, a convenience store and gas station.

We’ll update the story when we know more.
