Blood drives are scheduled at two neighborhood locations this month.
The first is at Lakewood Branch Library (6121 Worth St.) on Sept. 13. The Carter BloodCare Bus will be parked there 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. All donors will receive two pairs of socks, while supplies last.

Another opportunity to give blood is scheduled for Sept. 15 at White Rock Medical Center (9330 Poppy Drive), in the West Tower conference room 207. Parking and valet are free, and donors will get two pairs of socks, while they’re available.
The blood drive will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can be made in advance here.
There’s a need for blood donations, especially type O-, in the Dallas area, according to Carter BloodCare.
