Sorry for this in advance, but we can’t resist saying: It’s “Happy Trails” for Trigger. That is, Trigger Butler, the St. John’s Episcopal School teacher we wrote about in the November Advocate.

When we interviewed Butler for the story about awesome seniors, she mentioned that her grandchildren live in Alabama, and she is torn between her love for St. John’s and her desire to be closer to family.

“They finally convinced her to retire,” says Pam Jordan of St. John’s. “We are heartbroken because she is such a big part of who we are. We’re sad to see her go, but we’re happy that she’s moving on to the next phase of her life.”

The school is planning a private retirement party for middle school students and their parents, followed by a public reception, from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, May 11 at St. John’s.
