An attempted kidnapping of a 10-year-old boy was reported in Lakewood.

According to a report from the Lakewood Hills Crime Watch, a man approached the boy on the 6900 block of Lakeshore around 4:34 p.m. Sept. 17 and asked him to come home with him. The man was then seen getting into a white sedan. The boy ran away and made it home safely.

Neighbors believe the car is a four-door Mazda with tinted windows. The suspect is a Black man around 50 years old who has a “thick/muscular” stature. He is average height and was wearing large sunglasses, a black hat and a black shirt.

A police report has been filed.
