The brewery was founded by Belgian-born Wim Bens, who moved to North Texas when he was 7 and now lives in Forest Hills with his family.

Lakewood Brewing’s ninth-annual anniversary bash returns this year with live music, food trucks and 32 beers on tap and to go. Specifically, the brewery is releasing the lion’s share IX anniversary brew, a Belgian golden strong that has been aged in Napa Valley cabernet barrels.

Lakewood Brewing sold its first keg in August 2012 and produced 11 styles of beer in its first year of business. The company now employs 20 people and offers year-round and seasonal line-ups sold statewide. It also includes a taproom and beer garden.

The anniversary event is scheduled for 4-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25. Tickets start at $25.
