For Jeremy Turner that artist was his neighbor, Arnulfo, or Al.

“(Al’s) studio, dining room, even his storage unit are full of brilliantly executed paintings, paintings that have never been shown in any kind of public space,” Turner explains on his Kickstarter page.

Turner says he felt so strongly about the paintings, he had to do something (hence why he has a Kickstarter page). One day Turner had the idea to turn an old 1955 Spartan trailer he happened to have sitting around into a mobile art gallery.

If it sounds like a long shot, keep in mind Turner is the brain that brought you The Vintagemobile, that big green bus crammed from window to window with vintage clothing for sale.

And those brilliant undiscovered artists you know? This is for them too.

“It is not just Al who could use a launch pad, there are others right here in Dallas who, when given the space and opportunity, could share their art, their ideas, their profound beauty with the world,” Turner writes.

Naturally the old hunk of metal needs a little fixing-up before it’s ready to roll. Turner is trying to raise $15,000 through Kickstarter — an online pledge system that helps creative minds fund projects. Last I checked, Turner had just surpassed $1,000 and still had 27 days to go. If he doesn’t raise $15,000 by the end date, the project will be considered failed and his backers will not be charged.

Turner has taken to social media to raise awareness about his new pet project, using his Vintagemobile blog, Twitter and Facebook. He’s also giving away prizes to funders. Check out the video below and visit his Kickstarter page for more.
