The Aldi grocery store expected at Gaston and Haskell is under construction, along with 24 other stores in the Dallas area. "This is a brand new market for us, so all 25 stores are starting construction at once," says Aldi spokeswoman Heather Tarczan, who is based in Chicago.
Aldi is building a distribution center in Denton, which is expected to be complete in January, and the stores could open as early as March.
Aldi is a discount grocery chain with over 1,000 stores in 29 states, according to its Web site. These will be the first Aldi stores in Texas.
