Super Suppers Lakewood has closed, according to an e-mail sent to customers from franchise owner Christine Calhoun. The meal-assembly store, where customers could prepare meals to take home and cook later, closed Sunday.
Calhoun says the poor economy hurt her business, and she was forced to close the 4-year-old franchise in the Lakewood shopping center.
Fort Worth-based Super Suppers started in 1986, and started selling franchises in 2004. Last year, there were 206 Super Supper franchises, according to entrepreneur.com.
