Big-time city council debate yesterday about whether the proposed Kroger at City Place should be able to sell beer and wine. The store would be within 300 feet of a school, and city zoning prohibits alcohol sales that close to a school.
The council finally approved the zoning change, but not without some bitter words. My question: Was anyone aware that the Target across the street, about 500 feet from the proposed Kroger (according to my Mapsco) sells beer and wine?
