We don’t even have to leave the neighborhood to appease our appetites at one of the “101 best places to chowdown” in the U.S.
Travel Channel described Lower Greenville’s Truck Yard as a “former junkyard that has been transformed into a grub lovers playground” during its coast-to-coast quest to find the 101 most amazing places to chowdown.
But as cool as the digs are, it’s the cheesesteaks that did the trick. Truck Yard’s cheesesteaks landed it a ranking of 45 on the 101 list.
Truck Yard, the pet project of founder Jason Boso — also the brain behind Twisted Root Burger Co. — opened in September.
If you haven’t been by, Truck Yard is a food truck park that features a rotating ensemble of food trucks. There’s also a full bar in what was once a mechanic’s shop, a canned-beer bar in an Airstream trailer, and a treehouse bar in the ancient pecan tree.
