An article on the Dallas ISD News Hub called these schools “models for effective reader advisory and library engagement strategies.”

Circulation growth has increased across the district by 21% compared to the previous year, according to the article. Dallas ISD attributes this trend to the recent state law that required school districts to create policies preventing students from using cell phones and the like during the school day and on school property, among other programs promoting reading.

“This growth aligns with the district’s goal to push circulation back to pre-pandemic highs,” reads the News Hub article.

Dallas ISD also released the list of most frequently checked-out titles by grade level districtwide. For elementary school students, popular books include Dog Man: Fetch-22 by Dav Pilkey, Creepy Crayon! by Aaron Reynolds, Diary of a Wimpy Kid #6: Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney, and The Life of / La vida de Selena by Patty Rodriguez and Ariana Stein.
