ACE Moving

Coming up in April, if you want to pick up some nuts and bolts or a garden hose, don’t go to Ace Hardware in Lakewood Shopping Center. Ace is moving to a temporary location while they wait for their new building in Arboretum Village to be finished, says owner Khandoo Nagar.

Ace moving 2Nagar says they have to be out of their current location in Lakewood Shopping Center, where they’ve been serving the Lakewood community for more than 30 years, by April 15. The long-standing rumor is that Ace will be replaced by CVS, although nothing has been officially confirmed.

Ace Hardware is moving to another Lincoln property at Gaston-Grand, the shopping center where Cane Rosso and the YMCA are located. They’ll be taking over the location Premium Title Lending occupied up until a couple of weeks ago. Calls to Premium Title have yet to be returned.

Ace is already taking over the Premium Title space, constructing shelves and getting ready for Ace to invade.

The temporary location will be a smaller space than the one Ace Hardware enjoys in Lakewood Shopping Center, Nagar says, but the new building in Arboretum Village will be roughly the same size as their current location.

Ace might be closed for a week or two in April while they transition to the temporary space, and then they’ll probably be there for several months. Nagar doesn’t know when the space in Arboretum Village will be complete, and Lincoln has not returned our calls to confirm a timeline for the construction.
