Though the doors will close March 19, the restaurant is searching for a new East Dallas location to move to, Peterson Management Group, the parent company of Blue Goose, said in a news release.

According to the release, the building where the restaurant is housed was purchased, and Peterson Management Group was unable to reach an agreement for lease renewal with the new owner.

The spot at 2905 Greenville Ave. will still be open for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations on Greenville, scheduled for March 11.

Peterson Management Group also operates Big Shucks Oyster Bar and Aw Shucks Oyster Bar. It was co-founded by Scott Holyfield and Bob Peterson. Peterson’s son, Nick Peterson, serves as CEO of the parent company.

All Blue Goose employees will have the opportunity to work at other Blue Goose locations and Aw Shucks, according to the release.

“It has been our pleasure to serve neighbors at our Greenville Avenue location for the past 39 years,” Nick Peterson said in a statement.

Blue Goose is looking ahead to the opening of its Grand Prairie location, which will be the eighth for the chain.
